It’s Do It Yourself time again…
Just in time for St. Patty’s Day, this week’s DIY will help you spread a little green in your home.
If you’re like me (god help you if you are), you have a ton of little plants in your home. If you don’t have little plants, well, it’s probably time to buy some. They improve the air in your place, they enhance atmosphere and they’re great daily reminders that life keeps on tick-tick-ticking away.
I’m stepping off my soap box now.
I have a ton of potted plants in our place. I’ve been looking for a way to hang them but have long ago lost my love of macrame plant hangers. Whether or not I should have loved macrame in the first place is up for debate, of course. But not here. Here we’re all about simple, stylish ways to hang a potted plant.
I tested out this wire hanging technique at our first Craft-In (and by test, I mean I made it up on the spot) That time I used Mason Jars for pots, which turned out lovely. I figured it would work well on two little blue-green pots I found at the White Elephant sale – and thus this DIY was born.
Yeah. I just used ‘thus’. No big deal.
On that note, check out the new format for DIY. A photo really does speak a thousand words, right?
Enjoy!
Materials (as seen above)
1 Drill (screwdrivers work just fine as well)
1 Potted Plant (make sure the pot has a large lip to wrap your wire under)
1 roll 15 to 20 gauge Wire
1 pair Needle Nose Pliers
3 Screws
Directions:
And, voila! A few twists of a wire and you have yourself a cute little hanging plant.
